A Note From My Foster Parents,

If you watched Noah's video you will see the trials he has been through these past couple of months.  Noah's body is healed from his injury. but his foster family continues to work on his anxiety.
Noah came to us just shy of his 2nd birthday.  In the greyhound rescue world he is considered young.  He had some adjusting issues, but we are working on those.  He has come a long way these past couple of months.  He is a sweet boy who
enjoys his human's affections.
Noah suffers from separation anxiety, he is currently medicated,  so would do best in a home where someone is home more than they are gone. Noah seems to be the "rare" alpha male greyhound so will need someone who is experienced with dogs, particularly greyhounds. Noah will need to be in a home with no small children or small animals and would probably be best as the only dog.  At this time Noah is still on medical hold
.

*** Don't forget to check out my other foster brother's and sisters.  All of us would like to find our forever home.

Noah is in Need of Help

Initial Post----April 13, 2014

Foster Noah is in need of your help. Please read his story below and follow the links for a donations.

Noah is 2 year old greyhound currently in our foster program. He was injured Saturday, April 5th while experiencing separation anxiety. Those of us who have dealt with this issue know, greyhounds are masters of hurting themselves in some of the most benign situations you could come up with. He was rushed to our group's veterinarian at Southern Vet. He was then transferred to Nashville Vet Specialists, where he had surgery for a bad cut on his shoulder. This cut went into Noah's muscle. He is now recovering. He has a bit of a journey ahead of him, but we are doing everything we can to help him on that journey.

Currently Noah must go to the veterinarian's office every day to have his bandage changed and to debrided the dead tissue every other day or as needed. With the pain and the severity of Noah's fear at this time he is being medicated so the veterinarian can help him. We will eventually be able to taper off to every other day for the vet. visits. These visits will cost $150 every visit. Noah may also have to have a second surgery for a skin graft.

All About Hounds would appreciate your help with Noah's veterinary bills. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
All About Hounds Members

Update: May 3rd

Update on Noah

On Monday Noah went back to the vet. He pulled a staple and Southern Vet. did re-close the wound. It wasn't bad, but we need to make sure that it stays completely closed. His wound was completely closed last week.

With his peanut butter snack he is a good boy and let His foster family change his bandages. . He continues to wear a muzzle and a protective collar, the "lamp shade", when he isn't under very strict supervision. He is obsessed with trying to lick his wound.

As long as his wound continues to stay closed and we keep progressing as we are he will get his staples removed in around 10 days.

Photos:
1. Noah in a peanut butter coma. His foster family uses peanut butter as his incentive & reward for changing his bandages.

2. Super spoiled & ready for bed. . The shirt also adds a barer between he and the bandages.

June 3rd Update:

Noah continues to heal and thrive under his AMAZING foster family & our resident dog whisperers.   They are continuing his loving care, bandage changes, taking him to the vet for appointments, etc.  Our words can not express our appreciation enough.

You can see that his wound has finally closed up.  It is still sensitive and we need to continue to wrap it.  The veterinarians at Southern Vet. have done an amazing job with Noah.  You can see in the photo below that we finally have closed the wound. :)
