Vixen is settling in well.  Last night I took her out on leash in the front of the house so that to go potty.  She’s a little skittish whenever a car passes but did well otherwise.  She decided the 3 stairs out front were too much of a bother and jumped off the front porch going out and jumped back up coming in. The next day she mastered the stairs on her own.

Vixen spent the night exploring and checking out her new home, and she’s getting along well with our two greyhounds.  Our cats told her in no uncertain terms to “back off” and she let them be, but other than that she shows no interest in the cats.

She seems to be happy.  She’s a tail wagger.  Contact AAH if you are interested in the sweet beautiful girl.

Dash is a happy 2 year old "tuxedo" boy, even though he is straight off the track.  He has adjusted to retirement like a champ.  Dash has already discovered stuffies, mastered the stairs, and has no problems walking on floors.  He loves playing in the backyard and running with his foster sister, Leah.  So far he crates perfectly.

Heart (renamed Juno), is an exceptionally sweet and affectionate little girl, and the easiest dog we’ve ever worked with (EVER!). Juno is in her prime at the age of three and is recovering beautifully from a broken hock on her hind left leg. Don’t let it fool you, she has kept up with us easily on her three good legs, and she’s using her 4th more and more each day. She loves her crate, and goes in to snooze throughout the day, even when we don’t ask her to. Juno is very quiet and never barks unless she just can’t hold it anymore or some dog gets too pushy around her face. She’s very much a people person, and will go up to anyone to ask for a nice scratch (a real crowd pleaser); be prepared for all of the compliments you’ll receive on her super soft and beautiful red brindle coat. She loves squeaky toys and likes to walk around the home squeaking them in her mouth. Juno is great with stairs, though she’ll get annoyed if you ask her to climb too many floors at time. She loads easily into cars, but if you have a taller car, you may have to help her up until her hind leg fully heals. She falls right asleep during drives.
Juno has some unique quirks that makes her that much more special. She has the softest little Mohawk running down her neck (trust me, she pulls it off better than any person), and she can also play fetch. She’ll go racing after tennis balls and drop them at your feet. She has never lunged on the leash, and is quite happy to stick next to your side, though her ears will perk up at the occasional squirrel or rabbit. Juno has never come close to having an accident in the house, nor has she counter-surfed, gotten on furniture, or displayed any type of aggression or fear towards humans (including around food, treats, and while sleeping). A few spoonfuls of greek yogurt as a treat has kept away any gas attacks she might have. She’s great about her maintenance too: easy to brush her coat and teeth, trim her nails, clean her ears etc. She takes it all in stride and will probably fall asleep half way through.

Juno is currently the only animal in our home, and she has no anxiety or problems being left alone. She shows very little interest in interacting with other animals, big or small, preferring to be with her humans, but she does meet the occasional dogs on walks, she is very polite. She’ll make a wonderful addition to any family or lifestyle. Please feel free to contact us with any questions!
